Cats On Tuesday--Anela Grooms Herself

Anela most likely devotes about a third of her waking day to grooming herself. Every time she eats, she immediately begins licking herself--she is fastidious as are so many cats.

The theory behind cats cleaning themselves is that their saliva contains a deodorizing substance. Did you also know that grooming also offers other benefits? Besides the removal of dead hair and skin, the grooming tones up muscles and stimulates blood circulation.

If it toned *my* muscles, you better believe I'd be doing it all the time, too!! Marvelous!

Great grooming pictures !
Yes grooming is hard work but i think cats celebrate that. or they do that if they are nervous or unsure or if they are waiting or against boredom ...

I can see she grooms herself alot her white fur is so white. She reminds me a little of the cat we had when I was a child, Tuppence.

The Cats grooming and purring are very fascinating. They heal themself like no other mammals.
It's also fascinating they do have the courage to climb upon the most dangerous predators of them all: Homo Sapiens.
They most certainly have a telepatic kind of sense.

Wonderful pictures

After my shower,Matthias,my personal attendant feline, waits on the bathroom counter and licks my back.I think he likes the taste of my bath soap. I wish he would do most of my body, it feels really good!great pics of Anela. hugs and purrs...Basha

Cats are very clean (I like the healing theory). What always amazes me though, is how haphazard it seems to be sometimes: a paw here, then a tail, then some play for a while, then half a face, a nap, another paw, etc. But they somehow seem to get it all done!

Au is constantly washing. himself but if he falls into a storm drain or rubs against our car's tail pipe he demands I give him a good rub with a damp cloth!

I tried to do it myself but it didn't work, I am not as elastic as a cat and had difficulties with the back parts of my body, lol!

Terrific slide show! Anela, you do a great job grooming. Your white furs are very white! Even though we have no fur, we still groom ourselves (and each other) a lot!
